What is Point of Sale (POS)?
ERPNext's POS module enables retail billing at the counter with a touch-friendly interface, offline capability, and integrated payment, stock, and accounting.
POS Setup and Operation
Configure a POS Profile under Retail → POS Profile with the warehouse, cash account, payment modes, and applicable taxes. Open the POS interface from the shortcut. Add items by barcode or search, select payment method, and close the transaction.
POS Closing Entry
At the end of the shift, the cashier opens a Closing POS Entry. ERPNext shows expected cash based on transactions. Enter actual cash counted, and submit. ERPNext posts all POS Invoices to the accounts and transfers excess cash to the bank account.
